Sutter Santa Rosa 2016 Employee Service Awards Montage

One of the things video is so good at is paying honest tribute to the people who work with us and for us, and doing it in a way that touches the hearts of those who view it. Sutter Health is a quite a large organization, but one that really values its employees and staff, and we’ve been privileged to work with several hospitals within the Sutter system over the years to produce videos for their annual local Employee Service Awards gatherings.

For Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital’s Service Awards banquet honoring those with work anniversaries in 2016, we produced this tribute video using employee photos as well as images dating back to their hire years to help transport everyone back to when it began for each of this year’s honorees. We hope you enjoy it.

2016 Special Inspiration Award: James Forni

The Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce and the Petaluma Argus-Courier newspaper team up once a year to celebrate the “Community Awards of Excellence”, which are presented to those people and organizations whose contributions make this community a better place to live, to work, and to raise a family. The awards are given out at a special celebration, and the Chamber of Commerce asked us this year to create four videos for select awardees, to be shown at the celebration.

The “Special Inspiration” award is presented on an irregular basis, and is something that is presented only to those people whose life and presence in the community literally lifts the lives of everyone around them. 2015 saw the loss of James Forni to melanoma at the age of 35. James’ contribution to our community, first as an athlete and later as coach and instructor at Casa Grande High School, husband and father, is something that family, friends and students will carry with them the rest of their lives. We are honored to present his video here.

Every 15 Minutes: Montgomery High School 2016

We’ve been producing videos for local high school Every 15 Minutes drunk driving awareness programs since 2009 (and been on shooting crews for them going back to 2001.) And though we’ve been producing them for Santa Rosa high schools since 2010, it wasn’t until March of 2016 we produced our first for Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, which we are pleased to present here.

For those unfamiliar with the program, a full-scale simulation of a fatal drunk driving accident is staged on a high school campus in front of the whole student body, complete with fire, police, ambulance and even a helicopter responding. We create a backstory video prior to the crash scene, then capture the unfolding action of the simulation, including following the student actors as they travel to the hospital ER, the county courthouse, and even the morgue. The resulting footage is edited overnight and the finished video is shown to the students at an assembly the very next day. The idea is to have them live (at least as much as possible) the tremendous level of response from the community and the serious consequences of a drunk driving accident.

Warning: contains graphic images designed to simulate the consequences of a fatal drunk driving accident.
