The Housing Land Trust of the North Bay changes lives and communities in a way that very few other organizations in the country do: they make it possible for working families to afford to own a home in the communities in which they serve. This is not “low income” housing, but rather housing tailored to the financial needs of teachers, police officers, firefighters, mail carriers and other valuable members of the community who just don’t make quite enough money to live where they work. Best of all, the Housing Land Trust model is self-sustaining! Once a home has been constructed and brought into the program, no further subsidies are needed to keep it in the program for multiple homeowners.

We are pleased to support their great work in the form of two videos. The first tells the story of several families and their experience with the Housing Land Trust.

The second video, tells how the Housing Land Trust of Sonoma County came to be, and how the model works (“The How and Why”).
